Judging

Judging is an alternative to using Voting and allows you to setup custom judging forms and manage judges who can access the judging forms and use them to apply a score to vehicles at your show.

To get started with judging you will need to go to the “Show Settings” and set the voting type to “Judged Voting”.

Doing this will expose the show specific Judging URL. This is the URL that you will share with each of your judges and they will need to use this URL to validate them selves and access the judging forms for the show. Note that the Judging URL is specific to the show, so there will be a different URL for different shows. A QR Code is created that you can share with your judges for accessing the Judging URL.

Save the Show Settings and you will now see the Judging icon on the show landing page. Click on the judging icon to setup judging forms and judges (looks like the icon at the top of this page)

You will need at least one judging form. Click “Add form” to get started on creating your first judging form.

Judging Forms

Judging forms have one title and at least one one judging criteria. Add a title that is appropriate for your judging form and then click “Add criteria” to add a judging criteria.

The Add criteria dialog will open and you can select from any of the built in judging criteria to add to the form.

After adding the criteria to the form you will be able to edit it to suit your needs. Note that the Weight of any added criteria will be divided evenly among the criteria on the form to equal 100. You can adjust them as desired after adding them all.

Judges

Click on the Judges tab to add judges for your event.

It is important to know that each judge requires a mobile phone number that can receive text messages as the Middletwin system verifies judges by texting them a 7 digit verification code when they try to access the judging forms.

If you have multiple judging forms and you want to limit a judge to only have access to one single form, you can specify the Judging form in the judge settings, you can also specify “All” to allow them to access all judging forms.

Judging at the show

After setting up all the judging forms and judges, and you are at your show and ready for judges to begin, you will need to give your judges the judging url and have them load this on their mobile phones.

When you created the judges you should have see a column in the table called “ID”. Each judge has a unique ID in the system. Let each judge know what their ID is. Have them enter that ID into the field that is asking for them to “Provide your judging id to begin the verification process” and have them tap the “Send verification code”. The judge should get a 7 digit code sent to the mobile phone number that is associated with that judge within a few seconds and the screen should change to provide a field for them to enter the verification code

The judge will need to enter in the 7 digit code in the field under the “Enter the verification code that was just sent as a test message to you” instruction and then tap the “Submit verification code” button. The screen will change to show the list of forms the judge can use.

The judge will need to tap the desired judging form to load it on the screen.

The judge will then type in the car number and then set the score values appropriately as they judge the car. Note that scores can only be whole number values. When they are done they can tap on the “Submit Scores” button to submit their scores for the car number specified. The form will reset and the judge can move on to judging the next car. Judges can only judge a car once, if they try to judge a car they have already judged, they will get a popup message indicating that they already judged the car. They can also tap “Go back to forms” if they want to switch to a different judging form for some reason.

Results

Once all the judges have completed their judging, you can go to the results from the main landing page in the admin portal to see the final results (note that you can check results at anytime).

The results will show the average score for the car and the total score for the car, along with the cars details. You can base your awards on these results.
